Steven Schertzer

2026-2027 President

Steven Schertzer serves as Sales Manager of Mortgage Origination at GTE Financial, where he leads a high-performing mortgage sales team dedicated to helping members achieve their homeownership goals. A Central Florida native, Steven joined GTE Financial in 2012 after graduating from the University of South Florida. He spent five years as a Mortgage Loan Officer before transitioning into leadership in 2017, where he has focused on developing talent, driving growth, and delivering exceptional member experiences.

Steven has been actively involved with the Mortgage Bankers Association of Tampa Bay since joining its Board of Directors in 2023. He is passionate about supporting the growth and success of the local mortgage industry by fostering professional development, encouraging collaboration among industry partners, and helping strengthen the association’s impact throughout the Tampa Bay community. Through his board service, Steven is committed to advancing the MBA’s mission while building meaningful relationships across the industry.

Steven and Heidi have been married since 2013 and are proud parents of two children, Easton and Reese. Outside of work and volunteer service, Steven enjoys coaching Easton’s baseball team, spending quality time with his family, supporting Tampa Bay’s professional sports teams, and staying actively involved in the local community.
